Restrap, a Yorkshire-based company that usually specializes in cyclist accessories, has officially entered the photography realm with a SHOOT, an innovative camera strap that utilizes the power of high-powered, tech-safe magnets to keep your gear by your side.

SHOOT comes in two varieties: a traditional shoulder strap version and wrist-worn ‘Mini’ version. Both models utilize 50mm recycled seatbelt webbing, custom laser-cut buckles and powerful magnets capable of supporting almost any camera setup you can toss at it.

The idea behind the magnetic aspect of the straps is that it allows for easy swapping between camera bodies and strap variations. If you want to go from shoulder strap to wrist strap, three snaps will get the job done – much easier than needing to unscrew something from the tripod mount or designated strap connectors.

With a history in designing cycling products, Restrap knows full well the importance of making tough gear that can take a beating. So it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that they’ve chosen some of the strongest materials available and have tossed a lifetime warranty on both the shoulder and wrist straps.

SHOOT straps are currently on Kickstarter, where they’ve already surpassed their £7,000 (~$11,000) goal with 21 days to go. If you’re quick, you can pick up a SHOOT Mini ‘Early Bird Special’ for £15 (~$23) and a SHOOT Shoulder Strap for £25 (~$38). If you miss the early bird special, prices go up to £20 (~$30) and £30 (~$46), respectively.
