GoPro has unveiled a new platform that will let users license out videos captured with GoPro action cameras to brands and media companies, inevitably to end up in advertisements and other marketing material.

Not just anyone can upload their random GoPro videos to the service though. Considering it’s designed with professional-quality content in mind, content creators and the companies looking to purchase videos must apply for access to the service.

Currently live, the service currently features 572 videos produced by GoPro, select GoPro users and professional athletes across all disciplines. Of the videos currently on the service 8 of them are available in 4K and some feature dedicated soundtracks while others contain only the sound recorded from the microphone.

Videos can be watermarked by the uploads and start at $1,000 for a six-month licensing option. GoPro is yet to share how much of a cut it will take of that.

You can go search through the videos yourself, but don’t expect it to be a go-to platform for watching content. More so than anything it’s designed for media and advertising agencies, complete with a search and tagging system for finding just the right content for an ad.

You can head on over to the GoPro Licensing site, but don’t expect to browse through the videos without applying and being accepted.
