Rechargeable batteries are one of the most wonderful innovations to ever hit the world of photography. Unfortunately, as more gear is acquired the cables and power blocks needed to recharge the batteries of devices grows, becoming ever more impossible to manage in an efficient manner.

Not all hope should be lost though. Vimeo Video School has shared a helpful video that details how simple it can be to make a DIY charging board to minimize hassle and expedite the charging of every battery you own.

The video comes in at only two and a half minutes and breaks down every required tool and step of the process needed to create the charging board. Below is the list of supplies you’ll need:

Once you’ve acquired the supplies, the process is fairly straightforward. Cut the fiberboard to size, map out where you want to place your chargers and route the cords, then use the screws, zip-ties, velcro, and other tools to properly attach the chargers.

Finished, the ‘BattBoard’ came in at $113, although it’s safe to say you already have some of the tools laying around the house, so it might be a bit easier on the wallet. Once complete, the battery board is good to go and ready to hang wherever you need it.
