Fast cars go even faster: The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in one minute

Memorial Day weekend provides one of the best Sundays for motorsports fans as the day begins with the historic Monaco Grand Prix, followed shortly thereafter by the legendary Indianapolis 500, and finishes with NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600.

This year's centennial running of the Indianapolis 500 saw American Alexander Rossi (who not long ago came close to turning his Sunday sights toward the narrow streets of Monaco in an F1 car) take the checkered flag as he nursed his car over the famed bricks on ethanol fumes.

IndyCar's YouTube channel has uploaded a very cool timelapse from this year's running of the 500 showing the preparation and eventual race. In just sixty seconds you get a taste of the entire spectacle.
