Samyang has announced yet another lens as part of their "2016 Summer Samyang Blockbusters" promotion, this time a 20mm f/1.8 full-frame manual lens. The new lens will be available both in stills and video-centric bodies (f/1.8 and t/1.9 versions).

The f/1.8 version of the lens offers a bright, fast maximum aperture and Samyang's Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) for improved optical performance. There are 13 elements in 12 groups including two aspherical and three extra-low dispersion lenses. The optic has a seven-bladed circular aperture, and a smooth focus ring.

The manual focus lens will be available for Canon EF, Nikon F, Pentax K, Sony Alpha, Canon M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts, although the full 94.8° field of view will not be available on all mounts, of course. It will list for a price of around €500 (which is approximately US$550, although official US pricing has not yet been announced).

Along with the photography-focused version of the lens, Samyang also announced a cine version of the 20mm, the 20mm t/1.9. The cine version of the lens is basically the same optically as the photo version of the lens. Its design has been tweaked to allow for the professional follow focus system, and it has de-clicked focus and aperture gear rings. Additionally, the distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens. Like the f/1.8 version, official US pricing is not yet available although the lens will sell for €550, which is just over US$600.

This announcement follows the 35mm f/1.2 and 35mm T/1.3 mirrorless lenses being revealed last week.
