Can’t splurge on a MacBook with a Touch Bar? Use your iPad instead with Duet Display

Since 2015, Duet Display is an app that has allowed users to use an iPad as a secondary display. A recent update of the software now adds the same Touch Bar functionality found in the latest MacBook.

 
 

While using an iPad as a secondary display with Touch Bar isn't nearly as convenient as the Touch Bar present on the new MacBook, it you've been itching to try it and see if it will help your productivity, this seems to be the next-best way to do so. You'll need to be running the latest version of iOS (version 10.12.2) and the beta version of the Duet Display app (version 1.6.3.4). And if you haven't tried Duet Display before, and you have a spare iPad kicking around, this is a great time to do so, as the software is currently on sale for 50% off, or $9.99. The desktop software is also compatible with both PC and Mac, so you don't even have to use a Mac to try it - you just need an iPad.
