It isn’t unusual for artists to be talented within multiple disciplines and mediums. Musicians are no different and many musicians are talented visual artists, such as photographers. DIY Photography has made a list of ten rock stars who are also avid and talented shutterbugs.
First up on the list is Andy Summers, former guitarist for The Police. The multi-instrumentalist has had 35 photographic exhibitions over the past 30 years. As DIY Photography points out, his images are quite moody, often monochromatic. You can see more of his work at his website (NSFW warning: There is nudity in the photo galleries) and by following him on Instagram.
Another musician on the list is Canadian Bryan Adams. The singer-songwriter has received many awards and recognitions for his musical career, including a Grammy and nearly 20 Juno Awards, but he has also been awarded for his photography, in particular his fashion photography. He has also had the distinguished honor of being asked to photograph Queen Elizabeth II during her Golden Jubilee. You can see his photography here and by following him on Instagram.
Folk music fans are surely familiar with the musical talents of Graham Nash, singer and guitarist for Crosby, Stills, Nash (& Young), but did you know he is also a photographer? You can learn more about his work here. Also making the list are John Lennon’s very talented son, Julian Lennon, Moby and many more. Be sure to check out the full list here.
