Nikon show off special edition gunmetal gray D5, D500, lenses and more for its 100th anniversary

2017 marks the 100th anniversary of Nikon, whose official founding occurred on July 25th, 1917. Back in January of this year, Nikon announced a special 100th-anniversary microsite, complete with a detailed look back at the company's history, products and technical achievements.

Now, Nikon is going a step further, showing offer a series of special edition cameras, lenses, camera straps and a pair of binocular to commemorate this historic year. Walled-off behind glass at Nikon's booth at the CP+ trade show, the special edition Nikon D5 and D500 feature a unique gunmetal-grey body color, in place of the usual black finish. The lenses, which includes the 14-24mm f/2.8G, 24-70mm f/2.8E VR, and 70-200mm f/2.8E FL VR also get the cool gunmetal treatment as do the binoculars. 

These 100th Anniversary Edition products come completed with special edition case, unique leather strap with embossed 100th Anniversary logo and a booklet (presumably).

I say "presumably" because details on these unique cameras and lenses are very scarce. No official announcement has been made by Nikon regarding these products and no details, including any sort of pricing or availability have been released. When asked about details, Nikon representatives at their booth at CP+ offered little explanation other than that there are no details yet and no press release has been made available.
