The first major update to Capture One Pro 10 has arrived in the form of Capture One Pro 10.1. Capture One Pro 10.1 makes numerous improvements in addition to bringing a variety of new features to the powerful RAW editing software.

New features: PSD file viewing support, X-Trans file support and more

With Capture One Pro 10.1, Phase One is aiming to improve workflows for photographers who regularly use Photoshop and PSD files. Capture One 10.1 can now serve as a front-end asset manager for Photoshop by allowing photographers to display PSD assets within Capture One’s viewer. While PSD files are read-only, the new compatibility allows users to keep PSD files in the catalog, becoming much more useful for overall asset management.

Fuji shooters regularly struggle to find RAW processors which do their files justice and offer compatibility. With Capture One Pro 10.1, X-Trans file support has been improved and tools including the LCC, Chromatic Aberration Analysis and Purple Fringing suppression tools can be used on RAF files from X-Trans cameras. X-Trans files are now supported via OpenCL and Fuji Compressed RAW format files are also supported.

C1 10.1 includes a master reset function which allows quick, easy before/after viewing of processed images. This is enabled by holding the alt (option) key and pressing the master reset icon. Delete functionality has been improved too, allowing more control over how you cull your images.

The Styles user interface has been redesigned, allowing for faster Styles selection. You can preview style collections faster and style collections are nested, ensuring that the main viewer is not obscured. You can see the new UI in action below.

Enhanced camera and lens support

The full list of new camera and lens support can be viewed here but some highlights include: Pentax K-70, Pentax KP, Panasonic GH5, Nikon D5600, Fujifilm X-T20 and Fuji X-Pro2. New lens support includes such pro-oriented lenses as the new Nikon 105mm f/1.4E ED and 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lenses, Sigma’s 24mm and 85mm f/1.4 primes, Sony’s new FE 100mm f/2.8 STF and FE 85mm f/1.8 portrait primes and other optics from Nikon, Panasonic, Sigma, Sony, Tamron and Zeiss.
