Australian bag maker Alpaka has announced a new backpack, the Shift Pack, which has launched on Kickstarter, the company's second Kickstarter campaign.

For a lot of photographers, a dedicated photo backpack is perhaps overkill or they just want something more versatile. There has been a move in recent years toward technology-friendly and more general carrying solutions. That's where Alpaka's new Shift Pack comes in. This rolltop backpack is aimed at frequent travelers and commuters who need to safely and comfortably carry a lot of tech and everyday items.

The Shift Pack is weather resistant, has a magnetic locking system, expandable storage, quick access pockets, modularity, a luggage sleeve, a rear compartment for your laptop and/or tablet, a flat bottom multi-use compartment and much more. You can access the bag's spacious main compartment through the top, back and bottom. The bottom interior compartment, which can fit a DSLR camera and a couple of small lenses (or a DJI Mavic Drone and controller) is padded and has lockable zippers for extra security.

The Kickstarter campaign has over a month remaining and at the time of writing is more than halfway to its goal. Early bird backers can get the Shift Pack for $159, a savings of $70 off of the eventual retail price. The Shift Pack - which will be available in blue, gray and black colorways - will start being delivered to backers in February. Click here for more information.
