IFA 2017, one of the biggest tech shows in the world, has kicked off in Berlin and DJI didn't wait long to make a splash. The company has unleashed news about three of its big products, the DJI Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro and DJI Spark.
DJI Mavic Pro Platinum - Quieter and with longer flight time
The biggest announcement comes in the form of the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum, a new and improved edition of the very popular DJI Mavic Pro series. The highlights are that the Platinum has 11 percent longer flight time and 60 percent less propeller noise. It has a slick new paintjob too, but for drone users, longer, quieter flights are the big draw of the new Mavic Pro Platinum.
New propellers are only a part of the reason why the Mavic Pro Platinum is quieter, new internal speed controllers are also playing a role. For existing Mavic Pro owners, you can get these new propellers and your Mavic Pro will be quieter, but not 60 percent quieter.
DJI Spark gets "Sphere" mode panoramas
For DJI Spark owners, there is a new panorama function being added via a firmware update. The "Sphere Mode" will allow the Spark to capture panorama shots with a fisheye effect and then share them immediately over social media. A small update for DJI's smallest drone, but a welcome one nonetheless.
DJI Phantom 4 Pro improves with new Obsidian Edition
The Mavic Pro is not the only DJI drone getting a fresh coat of paint and upgrades. The DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian not only looks sleek with its new dark gray matte finish, but it has an improved gimbal which is constructed using electroplated magnesium.
