Footprints in the snow: Tracking and photographing mountain hares during the winter

Professional wildlife photographer Mark Hamblin was recently on the hunt for mountain hares in Scotland. He takes us along on his wildlife photography journey with NatureTTL.

Wildlife photography is always tricky for a number of reasons. You can't control your subject, for starters, and it can be difficult to track them. One nice thing about photographing many animals in snow is that you can quite literally track them by following their footprints. However, the snow also introduces an additional challenge, difficult exposures. In the video below, Hamblin discusses how to properly expose the highland hares.
