Olympus PEN E-PL9 release and availability announced for North America

After announcing the PEN E-PL9 back in February without any information on a North American release, the company has now announced that the E-PL9 will be arriving in North America sooner than you might have imagined.
The compact and lightweight interchangeable lens Micro Four Thirds camera is available in North America starting today. The camera can be purchased in a body-only configuration or with a 14-42mm kit lens (28-84mm equivalent focal length). Available in white, black and brown colors, the PEN E-PL9 body will sell for $599.99 USD ($699.99 CAD) and the kit for $699.99 USD ($899.99 CAD).
We've already had hands-on time with PEN E-PL9 and we have also started shooting the camera in our lab, with some sample images available for viewing and download here.
