When was the last time you really reveled at the image-making prowess of your cell phone? I mean not with the "this is good for a cell phone" mentality, but really looked at the images produced and thought "wow, this looks like my full size camera." Maybe it was the Google Pixel 2, maybe it was your last iPhone, maybe it was never. For me, using the Huawei Mate 10 Pro was akin to showing me something I did not believe possible. I'm a long-time critic of cell phone cameras because my standards were, at least I thought, too high to be satisfied with anything with such a small sensor.

I was wrong. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has changed my perspective on what a cell phone camera is and, honestly, should be. The saying goes, "the best camera is the one you have on you," because it's the one you can capture a photo with. It didn't mean at all that it was the best camera you owned. Well, the Huawei makes me stop and ask, "Why shouldn't it be?"

In this field test, I look at the Huawei Mate 10 Pro in a variety of environments and examine it's capabilities. For me as a reviewer, I had one of the most enjoyable times testing this camera because I kept being surprised again and again as the Huawei Mate 10 Pro repeatedly exceeded expectations.

This camera is so good, and I'll show you what I mean: Read the review.
