How to find and utilize good natural light for portraiture

 

 

Photography is all about light. No matter what kind of photography you do, light is of central importance. Learning how to recognize, utilize and create good light (and shadows) is a critical skill.

Photographer Sean Tucker has started a new video series on his YouTube channel about good light. If you capture images with good light, then you're already well on your way to a good photograph.

In his latest Good Light video, Tucker discusses finding and using natural light for portraiture. As you can see below, Tucker not only emphasizes what it is that makes light itself good for photography, but also how best to use the shadows that natural light creates.
