Sigma announces five Art lenses now shipping for Sony E-mount

Earlier this year, Sigma announced that they would start releasing Art lenses for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. The first batch of these lenses are now shipping. In total, there are five Sigma Art lenses shipping now for Sony E-mount: The Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM, Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM, Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM.
The lenses are optically the same as other lens mount versions. However, the new E-mount versions feature a newly developed control algorithm for driving autofocus and maximizing the transmission of data from the lens to the camera. Further, these lenses have been engineered to work with Sony's Continuous AF and high-speed autofocus, two features not available when adapting Sigma Art lenses to Sony cameras via the Sigma Mount Converter MC-11. Like adapted lenses, the new native E-mount versions are compatible with in-camera image stabilization and lens aberration correction, including corrections for peripheral illumination, chromatic aberration and distortion.
Each lens has been specifically tuned for Sony cameras and along with this increase in performance, particularly with respect to autofocus, Sigma notes that the native mount allows for a more stable and rigid feel when mounted on the camera. The mount connection area also features rubber sealing for a dust- and splash-proof construction. You can order the five lenses which are shipping via the links below.
