As we head into the weekend, our regular Firmware Friday roundup arrives right on schedule, this time bringing with it news of updates from just three companies. In the past seven days, we've only spotted new firmware from Fujifilm, Nikon and Panasonic, but a fair few interesting cameras appear on the list of updated models.

Without any further ado, let's get to what's new!

Fujifilm X100F, X-E2, X-E2S, X-E3, X-T10, X-T20 and 18mm / 60mm XF lenses

It's Fujifilm doing the yeoman work this week, with the company updating no less than six mirrorless cameras and two lenses. The changes made are shared across the group, however. Both lenses gain a fix for angle of view changes in closeup or 4K capture, whule the X100F, X-E3 and X-T20 receive a fix for live view flickering with a shutter button half-press. Finally, the X-E2, X-E2S and X-T10 all receive a fix for problems with incorrect exposure in aperture priority with an M-mount adapter in place.

Nikon Coolpix S9700

Moving along to Nikon, the Coolpix S9700 has received firmware version 1.3 this week. (You can download it here.) Problems resolved in the new release include an issue with inaccurate geolocation, and failure to correctly flash the shutter speed display when the subject was too bright for correct exposure.

Panasonic GH2 and AU-EVA1

And finally, we come to Panasonic, which has updates for both its GH2 mirrorless camera and its EVA1 video camera. The GH2 only receives improved compatibility with Panasonic batteries in firmware version 1.2 (download here), but in its firmware version 2.51 (available here) the EVA1 gets a more noteworthy update. In all, it receives three fixes for variations in image brightness with the Canon 17-40mm f/4 L USM lens, the shutter value changing after Auto Black Balance is set, and out-of-sequence timecode in SDI RAW “S35 5.7K” mode.

And that's all for this week. Be sure to check back next time to see if there's an update for your still or video imaging gear!
