In the newest episode of Adorama’s Through the Lens, the focus is on photographer and videographer Dan Marker-Moore. Originally from Chicago, Dan moved to Los Angeles about eight years ago. In Chicago, he was doing a lot of 2D and 3D art, including animation and motion graphics. After moving to L.A., he continued this kind of work for about five years before taking up photography. Photography started more as a hobby, but as Dan’s interest grew and he shot more, he turned it into a full-time job with a focus on landscape and cityscapes.

His multimedia and art background is immediately evident in his photography, as Dan creates incredible surrealist composites. Typically, he starts shooting a location during the day and then captures a series of shots as night falls before combining them into a final composite. It wasn’t as easy to share a timelapse on social media, so Marker-Moore wanted to encapsulate the spirit of a timelapse in a single frame. To learn more about Dan’s work, check out the video below.
