Behind the scenes in Dubai with portrait photographer Irene Rudnyk

Portrait photographer and educator Irene Rudnyk recently headed from Canada to Dubai to host a workshop along with photographer Andras Schram. In the video below, we go behind the scenes with Rudnyk on a lovely natural light photoshoot in a desert in Dubai.

Rudnyk went with her typical combination, which is a Canon 5D Mark III with a Canon 85mm f/1.2L lens. Despite utilizing natural light, she was able to shoot wide open at f/1.2, which can sometimes be challenging in bright light. She worked with the model in different locations, each offering different relative strengths, including working with the textures in the desert, the dunes in the background and using different elements to help frame her subject.
