  • Fujinon XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS

10 out of 10 points and recommended
Solid build, Smooth zoom ring, Nice color photo
Focusing is a bit slower than DSLR

I have just bought X-E1 with this zoom recently and went out on a trip so I had a chance to shoot at several lighting conditions, backlight, strong noon light, night time, foggy morning etc. All photos I took came out from good to excellent. I feel like shooting with Leica lens. I will not even bother to buy a Leica to Fx adapter to be able to use Leica lens on my Fuji X-E1. I am looking forward to buy their fixed 16mm and their wide zoom.

Handy zoom range with very good image quality
None (hope to see a constant f for an improved one)

Using this lenses since it first came out with my D90 and still use as normal zoom for other bodies. Never disappoint with its image quality.

  • Fujinon XF 14mm f/2.8 R

9 out of 10 points and recommended
Sharp Image from center to edges, low distortion
A bit slow auto-focus compared to 18-55, loud mechanism

Finally I bought this lens after using Fuji X-E1 for a few months and felt that 18 mm was not enough for the wide end. I intended to wait for their 10-24 mm zoom but it shall be a while before they release it (perhaps at the end of 2013). Overall I am quite pleased with the JPG quality that need no correction. The only thing I don't understand is why a fixed lens has a slower auto-focus and louder mechanism than their 18-55 zoom kit. If the focusing system is the same as their 18-55, I will rate all 10.

  • Panasonic 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH POWER OIS LUMIX G VARIO

    Light sharp@all focal length

I bought this lens from a guy that got it as a kit lens for his camera and he prefer using prime lens only. I put it on my Panasonic GX7 and use it when I travel. This lens gives sharp images at all focal length from center to edge. The contrast reduce a little at telephoto end but may be it is normal because it is 10X zooming in. I highly recommend this lens to anybody who want to travel light but still want high IQ.

    Sharp Light
    A little high contrast

I bought this lens from a guy that got it with his GM1. I think it should be a good companion for street photo since it covers 24-64 mm focal length. I feel that the images from this lens gives a little high contrast (compare to other lens I have with the same setting). But overall it is an excellent little kit lens.
