Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* SEL2470Z

I purchased this lens last year after hearing some negative reviews and some positive reviews. Needed one and had no choice but to get this lens. I got it after Nov.2015 and I took it overseas to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Korea and China and the US. This lens performed very well for me and it was very sharp and I have many great shots over a span of 3-4 months. Its a keeper for me. I don't know why this lens did not perform very well for some reviewers except that its possible they received a bad copy. The most negative review of this lens was the distortion which I agree on. The distortion is very disturbing but can be corrected in Lightroom and poses no problems for me. In fact, I enjoy post processing my images. The feel of this lens is excellent. It's well made no doubt, and just feels great to use in the hands. the zoom ring is silky smooth and the OSS works fantastic. It does weigh a little but nothing compared to other 24-70 f4's. The color rendition is superb and the dynamic range with the A7rII is just unbelievable. The only down side is its price, at around $1100.00, its one of the most costly 24-70 f4's out there. I felt a 24-105 f4 would have been a better lens for travel and roundabouts, but there's non available yet except with the use of adapters which haven't proved to be too successful with other mounts yet. This lens is a keeper for me as long as I have the A7r2II in my hands.
