10 out of 10 points and recommended
    sharp, focal range, consistent quality
    nil

This is my best lens. Much better than the 18-200 and absolutely no zoom creep.

VR works very well, corner to corner sharpness is great, and almost no distortion at all!

The max wide angle at 16mm is the most useful part, you can really get a group shot in without trying to squeeze everyone like a 18mm.

A must buy for any Nikon shooter, no wonder it is standard with the pro D300s bodies.

  • Sony 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye SAL-16F28

7 out of 10 points and recommended
    small, wide angle
    not really that wide

Got this as a hand-me-down. The fisheye is interesting, but gets tedious very quickly. The IQ isn't that great, and f2.8 isn't really fast either. I'd want more for this price. 16mm isn't really wide enough to justify getting a fisheye.

  • Sony 100mm f/2.8 Macro SAL-100M28

8 out of 10 points and recommended
    macro, closeup, 1:1
    soft, slow AF

If yuou're keen on a macro lens, if you're keen on Sony, this is the one to get. But it's not really as sharp as it should be, which is disappointing.

AF is also a bit slow.

  • Sony 16-80mm f/3.5-4.5 DT Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* SAL-1680Z

8 out of 10 points and recommended
    range
    IQ

It's a great walkaround range, like all other brands have. Even if it's a bit soft, it's handy to have around. AF is a bit slow, that's the price you pay.
