  • Olympus 40-150mm f/4-5.6 ED Zuiko Digital

10 out of 10 points and recommended
Very compact, good handling and build, great IQ
    Plastic Mount

One of the best kit lens ever.
Very useful focal range, but not long enough for me.

  • Olympus 70-300mm f/4-5.6 ED Zuiko Digital

10 out of 10 points and recommended
Build and handling are great, IQ is excellent, not too expensive
    Slightly soft wide open

I am very impressed with this lens.
It is built like a tank.
Slightly soft wide open, so aperture needs to be controlled.
I usually use it stopped down with F7.1 and the output images are sharp.
CDAF is a bonus for M4/3 users.
    Highly recommended!

  • Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 ASPH LUMIX G

10 out of 10 points and recommended
Size, weight, construction, image quality, AF speed, value for money
Need to stop it down for sharpness, slight distortion

I have bought this lens with GF2 kit.
    It really exceeded my expectations.
I think this is one of the underrated lenses.
14 mm focal distance is very useful for my photography.
Pancake design makes a lot of sense for M4/3, zoom lenses are just too big for such small cameras.
Image quality is as good as it gets for pancake, very small and light (I did not see anything like it), construction is solid - excellent performance overall.
I still need to test it wide open if it is sharp enough for real life situations.
Great job, Panasonic - I look forward for more pancake lenses from both Olympus and Panasonic!

  • Olympus 45mm f/1.8 ED M.Zuiko Digital

10 out of 10 points and recommended
Superb optically, fast, small and light, good build quality, reasonable price
No lens hood, flimsy lens cap

Another great lens from Olympus, it will become a classic lens of the system.
Must have prime for M4/3 users.
Excellent for portraits and shooting people, useful FL.
I use it together with together with Lumix 14 mm and Zuiko is better lens, 45 mm became my favorite.
Almost no optical distortions and I use it with Panasonic camera - so no software correction.
Very shallow DoF, after using zooms you can be surprised by this.
Build quality is better than I expected for this price range - it is mainly plastic, but few metal parts: lens mount and 1 metal ring closer to the front. So it feels very solid, better than it actually is. Looks great with black camera.
No hood included, unlike Olympus 4/3 lenses - but there are plenty of them on eBay for very reasonable prices.
