If you've listened to the radio at any point over the last 30 years or so, you've doubtless heard Bryan Adams' sing. Between his megahits "Summer of '69," "Everything I Do," and "Heaven," he's been a radio fixture for decades. But it turns out Adams is also an accomplished editorial and portrait photographer, who has had his work displayed in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire and more. Adams recently had his first solo photobook published.
His book Exposed was released late last year, and was published by Steidl. It chronicles Adams' portrait and fashion work, which includes him snapping a vast array of famous celebrities, such as Ben Kingsley, Amy Winehouse, and more. You can also see a lot more of his work on his website, or through various reviews of Exposed.
It's clear that Bryan Adams has a strong enough set of skills behind the camera that it's more than his name that gets him these gigs. Most of his work looks precisely like the photography that inhabits the pages of fashion magazines the world around. Though we assume his name makes it a fair bit easier to get the celebrities agree to be shot.
Adams isn't the only celebrity/photographer we've heard of of late. Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx also has his own photography career, and actor Jeff Bridges is a skilled photographer in his own right.
