In the runup to this year's PMA show, Fujifilm announced a replacement for its existing FinePix S2 Pro digital SLR.

At the time it was announced on February 5th , specifications for the new FinePix S3 Pro weren't available, but we've now received a spec sheet from Fujifilm. We also had the opportunity to see the camera behind glass on Fujifilm's booth, and took a number of images of the camera from various angles. Note that whilst Fujifilm is describing the S3 Pro as having 12.3 million effective pixels, only 6.17 million of the photosensors on the camera's SuperCCD SR sensor are actually going towards image resolution - the remainder being used to increase dynamic range.
