By Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource
(Thursday, February 7, 2008 - 16:20 EST)

On the CompactFlash Association's booth at the 2008 Photo Marketing Association tradeshow, the new connectors and packaging for a new variant of the CompactFlash card were on display.

The CF Association is currently working on a specification dubbed "CFast", which is essentially a CompactFlash card with revised connectors and packaging, and based around the SATA (Serial ATA) inferface. The new cards will not be able to fit into a standard CF slot, however they should offer the potential for significant throughput increases over traditional CF cards.

To see what information the CF Association's booth offered on "CFast", visit our CompactFlash Association booth report !
