Kodak cancels Seybold plans...

Concerns for the safety of employees and customers prompts decision...
Eastman Kodak Co. has today distributed a press release announcing that it is withdrawing its presence from the upcoming Seybold Conference in San Francisco, scheduled to take place from September 25th to 27th. "Out of concern for our employees, our customers, and their families, we believe it's best to forego any non-essential air travel at this time," said Regina Pizzoli, General Manager, U.S. & Canada Region, Kodak Professional, and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. The decision means that Kodak Professional will now officially debut its 5260 inkjet printer which was announced recently at a later event. The company will also delay announcement of the winners in its Kodak Professional Innovator Award.
Seybold Seminars has announced on its website that this year's Seybold San Francisco will go ahead, although it seems that recent events may cause many exhibitors and customers to reconsider attending. We will have a presence at the show courtesy of Newsletter Editor Mike Pasini, who will be preparing a show report as usual.

In light of the tragic events that took place in the United States last week and the uncertainties looking ahead, Kodak Professional has decided to cancel its participation in this year's Seybold Conference in San Francisco, Sept. 25 - 27.
"Out of concern for our employees, our customers, and their families, we believe it's best to forego any non-essential air travel at this time," said Regina Pizzoli, General Manager, U.S. & Canada Region, Kodak Professional, and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company.
In conjunction with this decision, Kodak Polychrome Graphics also will not participate in the Seybold Conference. Kodak Professional will consider another venue for the U.S public debut of its new Kodak Professional 5260 inkjet printer. Winners of the Kodak Professional Innovator Awards will be recognized at another time. |
