Digital Domain's ICC Profiling Software gets a test-drive from the folks at Feather River Canyon...
Randy Glass, of the Feather River Canyon News website, has just completed a review of Profile Prism - a recently launched ICC Profiling program for digicams and scanners from the same folks as ever-popular utility QImage Pro. Randy concludes:
"Profile Prism allows users to easily and quickly create ICC profiles for your digital cameras (and scanners) that ... are very accurate. About the only negative thing I can say about Profile Prism is that it does not work for output devices, but that's a temporary problem. Currently in development, Profile Prism will soon be able to finish what it started. Early in 2002, Profile Prism will be released in a version that will not only create input device ICC profiles as it currently does, but it will also have the ability to create output ICC files for your printer as well. That means that you will be able to use this one application to control color from start to finish." We've got a copy of Profile Prism in-house ourselves, and whilst we've not had as much time as we'd like to test it out, it certainly seems to do a pretty impressive job with a minimum of effort! Definitely check out Randy's review if you want more accurate color from your digicam images, and then hop on over to the DDI Software website if you'd like to purchase the program...
