Dave has mysteriously managed to post his review of Olympus' new 8x zoom, the C-720 Ultrazoom, while enjoying a little holiday.
Olympus has been a player in the "long zoom" camera market for some time now, starting with the excellent C2100 a couple of years back, followed by last year's C-700 UltraZoom.
Now, they have the 8x C-720 UltraZoom, with a bit shorter zoom ratio than the earlier models (8x vs. 10x), but now a full 3-megapixel CCD. The camera is also quite compact (at least for a long zoom model), and has good color and exposure characteristics, all at a very attractive price.
I felt they missed the mark in a couple of areas, but on the whole, the camera is a great introduction to telephoto digital photography at a great price. Read the review for all the details!
