Problems with Auto White Balance under incandescent light fixed for European users...

Nikon Europe has released an updated version of firmware for the Coolpix 995 digital camera, our friend Peter iNova of DigitalSecrets.net reports. According to the readme file, there's only one change - but it's a significant one:
"This firmware upgrade improves the issue of images captured by Coolpix 995 appearing too red when using Auto White Balance under incandescent light."
The firmware hasn't currently been released outside of Europe, but we have a query in with our US contacts to find out when it will be available here. In the meantime, we recommend users outside Europe hold tight, and don't attempt to install this update in your cameras.

European users, click here to download the update. Be sure to follow the directions carefully, as firmware upgrades can be a risky process if not done correctly.
