Regular readers will remember we told you a few days ago about an upcoming 20.8 megapixel SuperCCD-based digital camera back from Fujifilm.
The company has now provided further details on its Japanese website... The camera back will be compatible with Fuji's GX680, and a version for the GX645AF (a variant of Hasselblad's H1) is also planned. It will provide an interpolated resolution of 41.4 megapixels (7648 x 5408 pixels) from a 52 x 37mm SuperCCD image sensor, and considering the huge image size, will have an impressive burst-mode capability of 1.5 seconds per frame for up to 7 frames. ISO ratings of 100, 200 and 400 will be available, and a 1.8" low-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD display rated as 100% accurate. The camera back will offer JPEG, TIFF and RAW file formats, and accept Type-I or -II CompactFlash cards including Microdrives, providing for a large amount of storage space. The 20.8 megapixel digital camera back will go on sale in Fall 2003. Pricing has not yet been decided.
