Minolta's DiMAGE Messenger now an ACDSee Plug-In
By
(Friday, January 9, 2004 - 14:29 EST)

Minolta expands the reach of their unique Windows-based "Messenger" image-annotation/communication system with a plug-in for a leading image-management tool.

Minolta's Dimage Messenger software extends photos as a communications medium, by letting users attach text, audio, and even other pictures to images, linked via hot spots anywhere within the frame. In its initial incarnation though, Messenger operated only as a standalone application, requiring additional steps in the image-management workflow. With this announcement though, Messenger moves much closer to the mainstream, given the extraordinarily broad base of the ACDSee image-management application. By integrating Messenger capability with a capable image-management tool, the combined system becomes immeasurably more powerful. (If you haven't played with Messenger yet, you ought to check it out - There's literally nothing like it for people or organizations who need to communicate around images. - You can download a free version of DiMAGE Messenger from Minolta's website, to give it a spin.

Las Vegas, NV (January 7, 2004) -- Konica Minolta Photo Imaging U.S.A., Inc. announced today that they have developed a DiMAGE Messenger 2.0 Plug-in for ACDSee digital imaging software. The DiMAGE Messenger 2.0 Plug-in serves as a multimedia communications tool to link images, audio and text. ACDSee's award-winning digital imaging software allows users to import, view, organize, print, enhance and share their digital photos.

"We're very excited to have developed this customized version of our DiMAGE Messenger software for use with ACDSee's popular and easy-to-use imaging software," said Jon Sienkiewicz, vice president of marketing for the Camera Division of Konica Minolta Photo Imaging U.S.A., Inc.
