Canadian website Digitalreview.ca has posted an article comparing the advantages and disadvantages of Nikon's D70 and Canon's recently announced Digital Rebel XT SLRs, both offerings being aimed at consumers keen to enter the world of the digital SLR.

The article looks not only at the cameras themselves, but also the lenses offered in the 'kit' versions of both camera bundles. It makes for interesting reading, with the conclusion understandably tempered somewhat by the fact that the decision may be made for many potential buyers simply by the fact that they already own lenses and accessories for one other system. Still, the point is certainly made that Nikon's D70 is far from blown away by the XT - both cameras offer a number of advantages that are likely to appeal to different users.
