Fujifilm Germany: FinePix F460 announced (UPDATED) By

(Monday, October 10, 2005 - 04:43 EDT)While researching the previous item on Fujifilm UK's announcement of the FinePix Z2 Zoom, we found yet another model that looks to have been announced in Europe only - this time in the German market.
The Fujifilm FinePix F460 is a five megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom Fujinon-branded lens that follows the current trend with a large 2.5-inch LCD display, but no optical viewfinder. The F460 draws power from an included Lithium Ion rechargeable battery, and saves images on xD-Picture Card or 13MB of built-in memory.
Pricing hasn't been announced, but the Fujifilm FinePix F460 will ship in Germany this November.

UPDATED 2005-10-10 17:27ET: IR reader Gary Peterson wrote in to point out that the FinePix F460 is actually available in the US already, from Best Buy. The camera is indeed listed on their site - even though it isn't listed on the Fujifilm USA website - and is billed as a "Best Buy Exclusive". Thanks, Gary!

Fujifilm has announced the debut of the new FinePix F460, a 5.1- megapixel digital camera featuring a 3x optical zoom lens, a large, 2.5-inch LCD monitor, and 13 megabytes of internal memory, all packaged in a stylish slim, metallic body.
Distinguished by a full array of basic functions and innovative design, the ultra-slim FinePix F460, a mere 19.7mm thick, features a grip that fits well in the hand and a mode dial that allows selection of any of three modes (Auto/SP/Movie) with a single touch, making this digital camera remarkably simple to operate.
Scene positions selectable via the mode dial have been expanded from the conventional 4 positions* to 10 positions, making it possible to select optimized automatic settings to meet a variety of situations. In addition to the scene position selections, a Manual mode enables photographers to enjoy more flexibility to control the image quality.
