Canon U.S.A. Inc. yesterday released updated firmware for two of its professional single-lens reflex digital SLR models.

Version 1.2.4 of firmware for the EOS-1D Mark II has two changes as follows:
  • Fixes a file-numbering error that occurred during Bulb shooting.
  • Improves communication reliability when using some CF cards.
Version 1.1.4 of firmware for the EOS-1Ds Mark II incorporates these same two changes, plus one further update:
  • Fixes the phenomenon of horizontal line noise occurring when P.Fn-21 is set to ON.
Full instructions for updating the firmware can be found on the linked pages. To download the firmware, you may need to disable any popup blockers in yor web browser temporarily.
