PRESS RELEASE: Tenba Announces Major New Outdoor Carry Gear Collection - Shootout

Elmsford, NY - June 21, 2006- As part of its major expansion and new product initiative, Tenba has introduced Shootout™, an advanced collection of photo/imaging carry gear and accessories aimed predominantly at serious outdoor/active photographers. The initial Shootout launch includes five Photo/Laptop Backpacks, a Convertible Photo Waistpack, a Rolling Utility Duffel and an accessory Lens/Bottle Caddy. These will shortly be followed by a full range of outdoor-oriented shoulder bags, photo/laptop messenger bags and accessories.

According to Tenba product manager Peter Waisnor, Shootout was developed and fine-tuned by the company's in-house design team for over a year, with the specific goals of providing "lightweight, comfortable, action-oriented packs and bags with a high level of protection, and innovative, pro-grade features." Waisnor continues, "the additional challenge was to do it all with truly new, head-turning design and execution." So around and beneath Shootout's unique, curvy shaping and styling is the kind of attention to detail that Waisnor says "customers have come to expect from a brand that has been focused on top-level shooters for 30 years." Key features (which vary by model) include weather-sealed zippers, convertible "QuickAccess" pockets, a new and innovative tripod carrying system, and Tenba's exclusive WeatherWrap auxiliary cover.

The flagships of the collection, Shootout Backpacks are offered in five simply-named sizes: Mini, Small, Medium, Large and Large Rolling. The size range covers every conceivable need, from day-trippers and vacationing enthusiasts to outdoor/commercial pros working on remote locations or expeditions. All sizes except the Mini include padded, frame sheet reinforced laptop compartments for computers up to 17" (depending upon backpack size). The Large and Rolling backpacks are suitable for lenses up to 400 or 500mm, depending upon specific equipment variables. All models incorporate easily customized, well-padded interiors, fully-adjustable harness/belt systems, and the fast-deploying, "Velcro-free" WeatherWrap auxiliary protection cover. The generous, padded side pockets feature interior panels that can be moved to convert the space from cargo pocket to QuickAccess interior hatches. This allows fast, easy retrieval of a lens or accessory without having to fully remove or open the entire pack. The Backpacks also feature a significant new innovation, dubbed "MSTC", for Multi-Stage Tripod Carrying system, which adjusts to securely and optimally carry tripods of varying sizes and styles.

The Shootout Convertible Waistpack is a versatile, lightweight, "hands-free" carrying system for a camera (up to a standard-body DSLR/SLR) fitted with a small- or mid-size zoom, along with a second lens, flash and accessories. The Waistpack incorporates a broad, padded, fully-adjustable waist belt with a moisture-wicking lining for long-haul comfort. The main compartment flap opens away from the body for unimpeded access, and closes with weather-sealed zippers. Other features include dual-door end pockets with main compartment QuickAccess functionality similar to that of the Backpacks, and a variety of interior organizers for media, batteries, cables and other accessories. And unlike typical, single-purpose "fanny packs," the Shootout Waistpack converts to a compact, true shoulder bag by removing the belt and attaching the included hand grip and shoulder strap.

All Shootout Backpacks and Waistpacks also come complete with "attachable" accessories - one a media card wallet and the other a padded pouch for phone or portable audio player. The accessory cases are secured to the packs with clip-on security tethers, but can be removed and attached to various clip-on points on Shootout waist belts and/or shoulder pads. Tenba also offers an optional Lens/Bottle Caddy, which can be attached to the same clip-on points and "self stows" when not in use.

Also in the collection is the Shootout Rolling Utility Duffel-a cavernous, unpadded, general-purpose travel bag, ideal for the other items that active photographers invariably need; jackets and clothing changes, ground cover, first aid, other accessories, and more.

Shootout products range in (manufacturer's suggested) retail price from $99 to $146 for the Waistpack and Rolling Utility Duffel to $150 to $350 for the full-featured backpacks. For more information, visit http://www.Tenba.com .
