Two of Canon's EOS-series digital SLRs have received firmware updates - the EOS 5D and EOS-1D Mark II N.

The updates take both cameras to version 1.1.0, and both cameras' new firmware includes an "[enhancement] of direct printing with specific printers." In the case of the 1D Mark II N, this is the only listed change. Users of the EOS 5D should also find two further changes - both bug fixes.

EOS 5D v1.1.0 corrects a problem where communication errors could occur when shooting with Canon's EOS Capture software after shooting about 138 shots. It also fixes an issue where the flash mode settings could change from E-TTL to M (Manual) when the 5D was used in combination with the Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 and Speedlite 580EX.

Full instructions for updating the firmware can be found on Canon USA's website. To download the firmware, you may need to disable any popup blockers in yor web browser temporarily.
