Englewood, New Jersey-based Smartparts Inc. has announced a new LCD display-based digital photo frame that is priced at just $200.

The Smartparts SPDPF84 has a walnut-finish wood frame with dimensions of 11" x 9", and contains an 8.4"-diagonal LCD display. The device accepts JPEG images on Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, xD-Picture card, or SmartMedia formats, as well as images transferred from a computer via USB. The SPDPF84 is also capable of playing MP3 audio to accompany the images - either courtesy of a built-in speaker, or external audio connectivity. Slide show speed can be varied, and the device also includes an infrared remote for manual control of image display.

New frame permits automatic slideshow with images set to music or narration

Englewood, NJ (August 18, 2006) – Smartparts, Inc. Using a Smartparts Digital Picture Frame is easy. Users just remove their media card from their digital camera, insert the card into the digital picture frame and the frame will display the pictures directly from the media card using its automatic slide show feature – no computer is necessary.

Computer users who would like to use their PC or Mac can also easily transfer image files that have already been edited directly from their computer to a media card for use in the digital picture frame. In addition, image and music files can be transferred to or from a media card inserted in the digital picture frame via the (supplied) USB cable.
