PRESS RELEASE: New Version: ArcSoft® PhotoStudio® Darkoom 1.5
Provides expanded RAW format support and important new photo processing tools
FREMONT, CA- Dec 12, 2006 -- ArcSoft, Inc. released today ArcSoft® PhotoStudio® Darkroom 1.5, a new version of its popular image editing application that provides non-destructive photo processing for RAW, JPEG, and TIFF image files. The program offers professional photographers and photo hobbyists a complete set of image enhancement tools and export options. The new version more than doubles the number of RAW formats supported, and allows users to import photos directly into the application from a camera or removable drive. Additionally, ArcSoft's automatic red-eye removal and spot and patch removal technologies have been integrated into the program, letting users perform common blemish removal functions in one click.
"ArcSoft PhotoStudio Darkroom is an image processing solution that meets the needs of a wide range of users," said Michael Downs, ArcSoft Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. "We're excited to broaden that range by offering support for even more RAW formats. We think our users will be excited about the additional format support and our new features - like recipe copy and paste, and various one-click blemish removal tools - that make it even easier for them to get professional-looking results."
PhotoStudio Darkroom features non-destructive image processing tools for adjusting white balance, exposure, de-noise, hue and saturation, brightness and contrast, and curves and levels, and for applying color effects such as black & white and sepia. A complete set of lens and chromatic correction tools for fixing barrel, pincushion, and perspective distortions and color fringing issues are also included, as well as correction tools for red-eye, spots, and patches.
