Amazon acquires DP Review - Congrats from Dave

Online retailer Amazon.com today announced its acquisition of digicam review website DPReview.com.
To say that this came as a surprise would be an understatement, but I'm happy for my friend and friendly competitor Phil Askey, the founder and former owner of DP Review.
I've known Phil as a friend and honorable competitor for years now, and have always admired his dedication to producing the best possible content and experience for his readers. His talent as a web designer and his commitment to objective testing and analysis of the cameras he's reviewed have made DP Review an invaluable resource to the photo community as a whole.
Speaking from my own experience, no one can appreciate more than myself the thousands of hours of intense effort Phil has invested to build DP Review into the site it is today. - And no one could be happier for him to have found financial reward for his efforts.
In his news item about the sale, Phil promises even greater things post-acquistion, which can only be a good thing for the industry as a whole. Congratulations, and my very best wishes to Phil and Amazon, going forward.
