Apple Reports Time Machine Conflict With Aperture

Exclude Aperture Library and manually back it up.

Time Machine's backup and restore operations "may lead to inconsistencies" in the Aperture database, according to an Apple support note. Time Machine is the automated backup feature of Mac OS X 1.5 Leopard.

The note recommends that Aperture users exclude the Aperture Library from automatic backups. The six step procedure simply adds "~/Pictures/Aperture Library" to Time Machine's exclusion list under Options.

You should then manually back up your Aperture Library.
