eneloop.gif Accessory Review: Eneloop AA Batteries
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource

Finally, a rechargeable AA that keeps its charge.

The NiMH rechargeable AA battery is still a favorite for entry-level and long zoom digicams, both. But it's always suffered from a rather poor shelf life. Until recently.

When we needed to update our stable of older, lower capacity AAs recently, we remembered something we read in Theano Nikitas' review of the Canon PowerShot S5. "Our older NiMH batteries didn't work for more than a few seconds with the Canon S5," she wrote. "So make sure you get a fresh set. We switched to Sanyo's new Eneloop batteries, which promise a longer shelf life, and had no trouble."

We picked up a set of four GE/Sanyo Eneloops on our next trip to the mall and gave them a try. Read our report for the whole story.
