EXTENSIS.GIF PRESS RELEASE: Extensis Celebrates 15 Year Anniversary

PORTLAND, Ore. -- July 23, 2008 -- Extensis this week celebrates its fifteen-year anniversary as a local, Oregon-based software developer. To commemorate this milestone, Extensis is holding an anniversary celebration for employees including activities centered on supporting community service. All the funds raised by Extensis employees during the anniversary celebration will be matched by Extensis and donated to The Oregon Food Bank.

Originally a developer of desktop applications for creative users, Extensis has grown into the largest developer of server-based font and asset management solutions for creative and publishing environments. Best known for their font management product line- Universal Type Server and Suitcase Fusion- Extensis also serves this core audience with their long-standing Digital Asset Management application, Portfolio Server.

"It's the old story," said Brian Berson, Extensis General Manager. "Local guys get an idea and start building in their garage. But not all those stories turn out this way. We've come a long way from there, yet we still retain those qualities that make Extensis a great place to work. We are very proud of the fact that during Extensis' 15-years all software development, service, and support have been housed 'on-shore'- based right here in Portland, Oregon. Extensis continues to grow and change as any technology company does, but at its heart are the outstanding people that make this place hum. We look forward to another 15 years of servicing the creative professional market and being part of the Oregon-technology community."

Extensis products and solutions have been purchased by marquis customers in advertising, publishing, services and broadcast markets. Included, among many others, are Conde Nast Publishing, Pixar Animation Studios, Harpo Productions, Publicis, Hearst Publications, and Future Publishing (UK) as well as local mainstays Metro (Portland), OHSU, Seattle Times, Adidas America and Nike.

Extensis was founded in 1993 in Portland, Oregon, by serial entrepreneur Craig Barnes with a goal to the develop software products that enhance the creativity and workflow of creative professionals. Extensis software was and is built by designers, for designers and continues to be rooted in the core creative professional market.

Celartem Technology Inc., a Japan-based company, purchased Extensis in September 2002. This acquisition has enabled Extensis to invest heavily in personnel, new product development and corporate acquisitions and funding.
