TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--General Imaging has begun shipping its most feature-rich touch-screen digital camera yet, the GE E1250TW. The camera debuted on HSN on June 22 and will be available through Amazon.com and other retailers.

The latest release in the 2009 lineup of GE-branded cameras, the E1250TW boasts next-generation touch-panel controls allowing for swiping, rotation and zoom among the many new touch-controlled functions.

As with all the new 2009 GE cameras, the E1250TW also features the award winning Pan-Capture Panorama, a simple and effective way to capture scenic-wide images – the ballpark, the mountains, the beach, an urban landscape, or even a large group shot. With a single release of the shutter, a panned scene can be captured easily and more seamlessly than ever before.

Other features for the compact, stylish E1250TW include Auto Scene Detection, which automatically determines the most appropriate scene type to capture a sharp, vibrant picture; HDTV Output, for viewing photos on a high-definition television; 28mm wide-angle lens, for capturing wide scenes; Face, Blink and Smile Detection, designed to produce better results from people shots; Auto-Adjust LCD, in which the screen adjusts automatically to changing light conditions; and Red-Eye Removal.

“Our new E1250TW offers a new level of refinement and flexibility for our customers,” said Tom Haga, CEO of General Imaging. “The feature set is unsurpassed for a camera in this price range.”

The E1250TW has 12.2 megapixels of resolution, a 3.0-inch LCD screen, and 5x optical zoom, and is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The camera lists for $199 and is one of nine new models available in the 2009 lineup.
