SANTA CLARA, Calif., – June 22, 2009 – OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OVTI), a leading developer of advanced digital imaging solutions, today announced that its vice president of Process Engineering, Dr. Howard E. Rhodes, will present “The Mass Production of BSI Image Sensors: Performance Results” at the International Image Sensor Workshop in Bergen, Norway on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. local time.

Rhodes holds 149 patents and has published over 15 technical papers. Since joining OmniVision, he has filed for 18 patents. In June 2005, Rhodes received the Walter Kosonocky Award for his published work in CMOS Imaging.

OmniVision introduced the industry’s first commercial availability of CMOS devices based on backside illumination technology in May 2008. OmniBSI™ delivers a number of performance improvements over front-side illumination technology, including increased sensitivity per unit area, improved quantum efficiency, reduced cross talk and photo response non-uniformity, which all lead to significant improvements in image quality.
