Announcing its latest J-series model, Fujifilm has today revealed the FinePix J38 digital camera.

The Fujifilm FinePix J38 has a 3x optical zoom lens and a twelve megapixel CCD image sensor, and offers sensitivity ranging as high as ISO 1,600 equivalent at full resolution. Images and movies are framed and reviewed on the Fujifilm J38's 2.7" LCD display, and stored on SD / SDHC cards or in 10MB of built-in memory. The Fuji J38 includes a contrast detection autofocus system with face detection, and offers shutter speeds from 8 to 1/1400 second.

Apertures in the Fujifilm FinePix J38 range from f/2.9 to f8.8 at wide angle, or f/5.2 to f/16.0 at telephoto. These are all controlled automatically, with the Fujifilm J38's sixteen scene modes catering to photographers wanting a modicum more control over their images. The Fuji J38 is also capable of recording videos with sound at resolutions of VGA or below. Power comes from the Fuji FinePix J38's NP-45A Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.

Valhalla, NY, July 22, 2009 – FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. today announced the newest addition to its popular J-series line-up with the FinePix J38 digital camera.  With its sleek design and powerful features, the FinePix J38 is a great digital camera option for the consumer on a budget who doesn’t want to sacrifice great quality or style for a lower price.

Automatic Scene Recognition
The FinePix J38 features Fujifilm’s new SR Auto mode (Automatic Scene Recognition), which enables the cameras to intelligently recognize six types of scenes automatically.  For each picture taken in this mode, the camera will optimize the ideal exposure, focus, white balance and ISO, and engage Face Detection and Picture Stabilization as needed, for the scene to ensure the best quality picture is captured with ease.
