Eka Technologies Introduces Consumer and Professional-Grade Geo-Tagging Digital Camera Peripherals Available in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & Cabled Models

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eka Technologies, Inc., today announced FotoSpot and FotoMapr geo-tagging digital camera peripherals. FotoSpot and FotoMapr add GPS photo location, shot direction and even user notes to images created with Nikon, Canon®, Sony®, Panasonic®, Ricoh® and Other Popular Digital Cameras. Both FotoSpot and FotoMapr, are available in Wi-Fi® wireless, Bluetooth® wireless and cabled-connected models. Wi-Fi versions enable geo-tagging with virtually any digital camera that supports an SDHC memory card; while Bluetooth and cable-connected versions are designed for use with select NIKON and RICOH DSLR cameras.

“Personal photos are more than just images,” said Arun Madhav, Chief Executive Officer, Eka Technologies, Inc. “They’re memories. Memories that becomes more important over time, while the details surrounding the taking of the shots fade. Our new FotoSpot Wi-Fi model provides consumers with an easy-to-use, inexpensive way to add the photo location and shot direction to images created with virtually any digital camera. Photos geo-tagged with FotoSpot can then be uploaded via USB interface and used with any of today’s popular PC, Mac and Internet photo mapping software.

“For the advanced photographer or GIS professional, the FotoMapr series is a cost-effective way to professionally geo-tag and notate images for use in their mapping platforms," added Mr. Madhav. “Without compromising DSLR image quality and performance, field professionals using Nikon, Ricoh and other DSLR cameras, can now geo-tag and notate every image with precise GPS and user data.”
