PRESS RELEASE: GoldenPic Makes Outdoor Photography Easier
Next time you're about to plan an outdoor photo shoot, reach for GoldenPic (now available for Android and iPhone). GoldenPic takes all the guessing out of finding the times for the sunrise, sunset, golden hours and blue hours for anyplace, anytime!
PRLog (Press Release) -- Jun 20, 2011 -- When it comes to outdoor photography, any photographer will tell you how much lighting plays in getting that perfect shot. Now, instead of trying to figure out when those times will be, reach for GoldenPic. This is a must have app for Photographers!
Occasionally an app comes along that changes they way you do things, makes things easier and really helps you out... This is one of those rare apps!
GoldenPic is an iPhone and Android application designed for outdoor photographers and film makers, hikers, campers, fishermen and hunters. After retrieving your current location (via GPS or Network location), GoldenPic will display when the blue hours, golden hours, sunrise and sunset will occur for any given date and location in the world. If the selected date is within 4 days, it will even display the weather for you (when available)! If that's not enough to dig your tripod out, GoldenPic provides five different ways to choose a location (current GPS coordinates, enter Latitude/Longitude coordinates, search by map, search by address, city, state and/or landmark location), it even allows you to save your favorite locations to retrieve at a later date and email the results to your client.
All the important info in one simple clean interface. Don't dig through pages of info in other apps for what you're looking for. It's all right here.
iPhone users have extra features available to them, which will be coming soon to Android. "After receiving a lot of feedback from various photographers using the Android version, we decided to make some enhancements to the iPhone's GoldenPic in order to make it a one-stop-shop for outdoor photographers." said John Biazo, co-owner, Jebs Apps, LLC.
Some of these new features available for iPhone users include:
Additional themes (HiRes)
Moonrise and moonset hours
Map It! (provides you directions to get to your saved locations via Google Maps)
"I'm a professional photographer who shoots a lot of sunrises and sunsets as well as architectural photography, and I love and recommend using GoldenPic! I've used other apps to determine sunrise or sunset time before but the added Blue Hour and Golden Hour info in GoldenPic is exactly what I needed. Also, the weather information helps me easily and quickly determine if my shoot will be a great one or if I need to reschedule." said Scott Thompson of Scott Shots Photography
“A great little app which, based on your GPS co-ordinates, will tell you what time golden hour will commence in the afternoon, what time the sun will set, what time blue hour will end, and then for the following morning, what time blue hour starts, sunrise, and when golden hour will end. You can also scan ahead through the calendar to plan your shooting schedule for the following days!” said Bruce Williams of Bruce Williams Photography.
"Gives the lighting info I need quickly and easily in a simple format." said Dustin on the Android Market.
“Awesome for architectural photographers like me. Worth 10x the price.” said Ian on Android Market.
