31/08/2011 The major firmware update announcement for our flagship H4D-60 medium format camera this summer will become available free of charge to Hasselblad H4D-40 and H4D-50 series owners in December.

Therefore, Christmas for Hasselblad H4D-40 and H4D-50 owners will be slightly earlier this year -- and here’s the all-important link to collect your free gift from December 1st: www.hasselblad.com/upgrade.

Peter Stig-Nielsen, Hasselblad Product Management Director explained: “Following the release of key new features available on the H4D-60 we received many phone calls and emails asking if these new functions could be made available on other products. We heard you and we have responded. This easy to install firmware upgrade introduces One-Click, instant digital focus check -- enabling users to zoom in 100% to check focus position and accuracy. It also features a new two directional (pitch and roll) digital spirit level that puts an end to skewed horizons and off-angle straight edges. Additionally we have built-in an improved, high resolution display and new rear display with grip info displayed on the back.”

He added: “We believe customers will see this as buying one camera and getting an additional, newer one absolutely free!”

The firmware upgrade features will be available for the H4D-40, H4D-50, H4D-50MS and H4D-200MS cameras but they will not be available for the H4D-31 unit.
