A press release today from SanDisk Corp. announces that Nikon Inc. has selected its 8MB Type-I CompactFlash card for inclusion in its Nikon Coolpix 775 camera bundle. The Coolpix 775, billed as the world's lightest 3x optical zoom digital camera, is a $449 model with 2.1 megapixel image sensor and USB connectivity. Announced on April 25th, the camera is due to ship in July 2001 on the US market...

SanDisk's Nelson Chan, Senior VP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, noted:

Nikon's Coolpix 880 and 990 digital cameras both shipped with Lexar flash media, but it seems that the company has chosen to remain brand agnostic with its latest releases. Whilst the Coolpix 775 will ship with SanDisk flash as per today's announcement, last month Lexar noted that its own flash cards would be bundled with the Coolpix 995.
